--- abstract: "This paper builds on the relevance-theoretic account of communication. It attempts to show that the question whether a textual feature of the original should be represented in the translated text as a \"communicative clue\" depends on a) the intentions of the original communicator and b) the translator's notion of what his or her task is. Regarding the impact of the translation, it also depends on how well the translator's intentions match the expectations of the audience." altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Gutt given: Ernst-August honourific: Dr lineage: '' date: 2000 date_type: published datestamp: 2002-11-08 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/25/84 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: ~ edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: - family: Navarro Errasti given: Maria Pilar honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Lores Sanz given: Rosa honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Murillo Ornat given: Silvia honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Buesa Gomez given: Carmina honourific: '' lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 2584 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/text_html.png;/2584/1/TextualPropertiesCommunicativeClues.htm full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: 0 item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'translation, Relevance Theory, communicative clues, context' lastmod: 2011-03-11 08:55:05 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: 151-160 pubdom: FALSE publication: 'Transcultural Communication: Pragmalinguistic Aspects' publisher: ANUBAR refereed: TRUE referencetext: | Buber, Martin 1954 'Zu einer Verdeutschung der Schrift'.
