title: Joint attention in the first year: The coordination of gaze and affect between 7 and 10 months of age creator: Stahl, Daniel creator: Striano, Tricia subject: Developmental Psychology subject: Behavioral Analysis description: We used a multilevel growth model to describe the developmental trajectories of infant’s coordinated attention between people and objects between 7 and 10 months of age. Additionally, we assed whether the coordinated attention looks were accompanied by smiles as infants interacted social partners. These results confirm the emergence of visual joint attention skills before the end of the first year. These results will be useful in the construction of robotic systems that engage in joint attention. publisher: Lund University Cognitive Studies contributor: Berthouze, Luc contributor: Kaplan, Frédéric contributor: Kozima, Hideki contributor: Yano, Hiroyuki contributor: Konczak, Jürgen contributor: Metta, Giorgio contributor: Nadel, Jacqueline contributor: Sandini, Giulio contributor: Stojanov, Georgi contributor: Balkenius, Christian date: 2005 type: Conference Poster type: PeerReviewed format: application/pdf identifier: http://cogprints.org/4996/1/stahl.pdf identifier: Stahl, Daniel and Striano, Tricia (2005) Joint attention in the first year: The coordination of gaze and affect between 7 and 10 months of age.
