abstract: 'Bisexuality is thought by many to be an intermediate sexual orientation on a continuum between the more exclusive extremes of heterosexuality and homosexuality. Kinsey et al. (1948) adopted this assumption in devising their scale of sexual orientation, which assigned seven anchored points along what they saw as a continuum of behavior from exclusively homosexual (HS) to exclusively heterosexual (HT).'
