abstract: Our society views creativity as a rare and mystical gift. We put it on a pedestal, exalting those such as artists, inventors, and scientists who we deemed creative. But at the same time, we decide that creativity is unattainable by the typical person. By so cherishing creativity in a few, our society inadvertently discourages it in most.
