--- abstract: "Information distributed through the Web keeps growing faster day by day,\r\nand for this reason, several techniques for extracting Web data have been suggested\r\nduring last years. Often, extraction tasks are performed through so called wrappers,\r\nprocedures extracting information from Web pages, e.g. implementing logic-based\r\ntechniques. Many fields of application today require a strong degree of robustness\r\nof wrappers, in order not to compromise assets of information or reliability of data\r\nextracted.\r\nUnfortunately, wrappers may fail in the task of extracting data from a Web page, if\r\nits structure changes, sometimes even slightly, thus requiring the exploiting of new\r\ntechniques to be automatically held so as to adapt the wrapper to the new structure\r\nof the page, in case of failure. In this work we present a novel approach of automatic wrapper adaptation based on the measurement of similarity of trees through\r\nimproved tree edit distance matching techniques." altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Ferrara given: Emilio honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Baumgartner given: Robert honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2010 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-10-01 00:34:28 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/76/42 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7642 fileinfo: application/pdf;http://cogprints.org/7642/1/contr_ferrara_wrapper_adaptation.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: ~ lastmod: 2011-10-01 00:34:28 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: 17-23 pubdom: TRUE publication: Combinations of Intelligent Methods and Applications publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 9 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2011-10-01 00:34:28 subjects: - comp-sci-art-intel succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Automatic Wrapper Adaptation by Tree Edit Distance Matching type: bookchapter userid: 14714 volume: ~
