--- abstract: 'Villar’s Nodule or primary umbilical endometrioma is a rare condition, with an estimated incidence of 0.5 to 1% of all patients with endometrial ectopia. Several aetiological theories have been proposed for its pathogenesis with coelomic metaplasia being the favoured one and also, umbilicus may acts as a physiological scar with a predilection for endometrial tissue in the development of spontaneous umbilical endometriosis. Since endometriosis remains a diagnostic and therapeutic enigma even today, largely due to its variable presentations, we, hereby report a case of primary umbilical endometrioma due to its rarity and unusual presentation.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue37/2011-1-19.htm chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - drmallikasengupta@gmail.com - ~ - ~ - ~ creators_name: - family: Sengupta given: M honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Naskar given: A honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Gon given: S honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Majumdar given: B honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2011-04-15 date_type: published datestamp: 2011-12-28 03:01:59 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/78/32 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - BS Kakkilaya editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: ~ eprint_status: archive eprintid: 7832 fileinfo: application/pdf;http://cogprints.org/7832/1/2011%2D1%2D19.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Umbilical; Endometriosis lastmod: 2011-12-28 03:01:59 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 1 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: BS Kakkilaya refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tDessy LA, Buccheri EM, Chiummariello S, Gagliardi DN, Onesti MG.
