--- abstract: Lower lip numbness has always been a sinister symptom. Much has been written about it being the sole symptom of pathological lesions and metastatic tumours in the mandible. It may also be a symptom of manifestations of certain systemic disorders. A case of lower lip numbness resulting from the compression of the mental nerve by a peri-radicular abscess is presented because of the unusual nature of this spread of infection. altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - ngeowy@um.edu.my creators_name: - family: Ngeow given: W.C. honourific: Dr. lineage: '' date: 1998-12 date_type: published datestamp: 2012-04-25 12:59:50 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/81/82 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 8182 fileinfo: application/pdf;http://cogprints.org/8182/1/Lower%20lip%20numbness%20due%20to%20peri%2Dradicular%20dental%20infection.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'Article; Case Report; Emergency Health Service; Endodontics; Female; Human; Lip; Mandibular Nerve; ;Middle Aged; Mouth Disease; Nerve Compression; Radiography; Somatosensory Disorder; Tooth Periapical Disease; Tooth Radiography; Emergency Medical Services; Humans; Mouth Diseases; Nerve Compression Syndromes; Periapical Abscess; Radiography, Dental; Root Canal Therapy; Somatosensory Disorders ' lastmod: 2012-04-25 12:59:50 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: 'Cited By (since 1996): 1 Export Date: 7 March 2012 Source: Scopus PubMed ID: 10971994 Language of Original Document: English Correspondence Address: Ngeow, W.C.' number: 4 pagerange: 446-448 pubdom: TRUE publication: Medical Journal of Malaysia publisher: ~ refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 8 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2012-04-25 12:59:50 subjects: - JOURNALS - OJHAS succeeds: ~ suggestions: "Associate Prof. Dr. Ngeow Wei Cheong @ David Ngeow\r\nDepartment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, University of\r\nMalaya, 50603 Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA\r\n\r\nAssociate Professor Dr. Ngeow Wei Cheong is currently a lecturer at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Malaya.
