--- abstract: 'We examined the behavioral and neurochemical effects of cocaethylene treatment in Long–Evans (LE). and Sprague–Dawley (SD) rats. Cocaethylene-induced behaviors were significantly less in LE rats. Cocaethylene caused an inhibition of dopamine synthesis in the caudate nucleus and nucleus accumbens that was equivalent in both rat lines. Serotonin synthesis was also suppressed by cocaethylene treatment, however this phenomenon was less pronounced when compared with the effects on dopamine synthesis.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: [] creators_name: - family: Baumann given: M.H. honourific: Dr. lineage: '' - family: Horowitz given: J.M. honourific: Dr. lineage: '' - family: Kristal given: M.B. honourific: Dr. lineage: '' - family: Torres given: G. honourific: 'Dr. ' lineage: '' date: 1998 date_type: published datestamp: 2013-05-04 23:21:58 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/89/54 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 8954 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/8954/1/Brain%20Res.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: 'cocaine, alcohol, cocaethylene, dopamine, serotonin, caudate, nucleus accumbens' lastmod: 2013-05-04 23:21:58 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: ~ pagerange: 316-319 pubdom: TRUE publication: Brain Research publisher: Elsevier refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 11 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2013-05-04 23:21:58 subjects: - behav-neuro-sci - neuro-chem - neuro-pharm succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Effects of cocaethylene on dopamine and serotonin synthesis in Long–Evans and Sprague–Dawley brains type: journalp userid: 88 volume: 804
