--- abstract: 'We live in a translingual society, in order to communicate with people from different parts of the world we need to have an expertise in their respective languages. Learning all these languages is not at all possible; therefore we need a mechanism which can do this task for us. Machine translators have emerged as a tool which can perform this task. In order to develop a machine translator we need to develop several different rules. The very first module that comes in machine translation pipeline is morphological analysis. Stemming and lemmatization comes under morphological analysis. In this paper we have created a lemmatizer which generates rules for removing the affixes along with the addition of rules for creating a proper root word.' altloc: [] chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - snigdha.pal18@gmail.com - nisheeth.joshi@rediffmail.com - mathur_iti@rediffmail.com creators_name: - family: Paul given: Snigdha honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Joshi given: Nisheeth honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Mathur given: Iti honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2013-05 date_type: published datestamp: 2013-11-18 21:01:21 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/90/58 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: [] editors_name: [] eprint_status: archive eprintid: 9058 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/9058/2/HindiLemmatizer.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: ~ lastmod: 2013-11-18 21:01:21 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 5 pagerange: 380-384 pubdom: TRUE publication: International Journal of Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing publisher: Arohan Publishers refereed: TRUE referencetext: ~ relation_type: [] relation_uri: [] reportno: ~ rev_number: 13 series: ~ source: ~ status_changed: 2013-11-18 21:01:21 subjects: - ling-comput - ling-morph succeeds: ~ suggestions: ~ sword_depositor: ~ sword_slug: ~ thesistype: ~ title: Development of a Hindi Lemmatizer type: journalp userid: 21210 volume: 2
