--- abstract: 'Primary eosinophilic appendicitis is a rare condition of unknown etiology having vague and unexplained symptoms. Histopathological hallmark of this entity is eosinophilic infiltration of the muscularis propria with accompanying edema separating the muscle fibers, and absence of neutrophilic infiltration. Preoperative correct diagnosis of this entity is not possible in view of lack of specific imaging technology. Histopathological examination is the gold standard for the diagnosis. Here, we present an unusual case of Eosinophilic Obliterative appendicitis in a 25 years old male patient.' altloc: - http://www.ojhas.org/issue49/2014-1-6.html chapter: ~ commentary: ~ commref: ~ confdates: ~ conference: ~ confloc: ~ contact_email: ~ creators_id: - ~ - drdhirajnikumbh@rediffmail.com - ~ creators_name: - family: Kanthikar given: SN honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Nikumbh given: DB honourific: '' lineage: '' - family: Desale given: SS honourific: '' lineage: '' date: 2014-05-15 date_type: published datestamp: 2016-07-11 15:45:30 department: ~ dir: disk0/00/00/97/32 edit_lock_since: ~ edit_lock_until: 0 edit_lock_user: ~ editors_id: - Kakkilaya BS editors_name: - family: Kakkilaya given: Srinivas honourific: Dr lineage: '' eprint_status: archive eprintid: 9732 fileinfo: /style/images/fileicons/application_pdf.png;/9732/1/2014-1-6.pdf full_text_status: public importid: ~ institution: ~ isbn: ~ ispublished: pub issn: ~ item_issues_comment: [] item_issues_count: ~ item_issues_description: [] item_issues_id: [] item_issues_reported_by: [] item_issues_resolved_by: [] item_issues_status: [] item_issues_timestamp: [] item_issues_type: [] keywords: Eosinophilic appendicitis; Obstruction; Appendix; Eosinophils lastmod: 2016-07-11 15:45:30 latitude: ~ longitude: ~ metadata_visibility: show note: ~ number: 1 pagerange: ~ pubdom: TRUE publication: Online Journal of Health and Allied Sciences publisher: Kakkilaya BS refereed: TRUE referencetext: "1.\tD'Souza C, Bhagwan KR, Sunil H, Mohan R.
