Salir Adelante \/Moving Forward Documentary<\/h2>\n

The documentary Salir Adelante \/ Moving Forward<\/strong>, directed and produced by Bruna Curcio in collaboration with the ESRC-funded Redressing Gendered Health Inequalities of Displaced Women and Girls (ReGHID) at the University of Southampton, was premiered last Thursday 12th January 2023, at\u00a0<\/span>Harbour Lights Picturehouse\u00a0<\/span>in Southampton.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salir Adelante\u00a0<\/span>\/ Moving Forward<\/span><\/strong> is based on the stories of Venezuelan forced migrant women and girls who fled humanitarian crisis to rebuild their lives and hopes while experiencing the everyday struggles of unfamiliar and sometimes adverse places in Brazil. The documentary calls the attention to the perilous journeys to hope, safety and wellbeing they undertook as well as the failures of protection regimes and policies to redress the many risks, harms and barriers that stop migrant women and girls from enjoying the rights, dignity, and respect they are entitled to.<\/span><\/p>\n

Further good news is that\u00a0<\/span>the documentary has been shortlisted at the WRPN Women’s International Film Festival, competing for Best Foreign Documentary!\u00a0<\/span>The WIFF is created exclusively for films made by women, or that carry subject matter relating to concerns to women’s issues.<\/span><\/p>\n
