{"id":333,"date":"2017-11-01T11:30:12","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T11:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/lgbtpulse\/?p=333"},"modified":"2018-01-16T11:30:41","modified_gmt":"2018-01-16T11:30:41","slug":"focus-on-secretary-committee-rep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/lgbtpulse\/2017\/11\/01\/focus-on-secretary-committee-rep\/","title":{"rendered":"Focus on Secretary Committee rep"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following on from our <a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/lgbtpulse\/2017\/10\/24\/focus-on-eventssocial-committee-rep\/\">message last week <\/a>about Committee positions up for grabs in 2018, this post is about\u00a0the Pulse Network Secretary role, a fantastic opportunity for someone who&#8217;s into social media and sharing our story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the Secretary position about?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You would be collating and sharing information across Pulse, the ED&amp;I team, external bodies and also help the Social\/Events rep organise network meetings. The channels we have in place at the moment include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pulse <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/uoslgbt\">Twitter<\/a><\/span> feed<\/li>\n<li>Pulse <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/uoslgbt\">Facebook <\/a>page<\/li>\n<li>The new website blog posts<\/li>\n<li>Other central University channels, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussed.southampton.ac.uk\">SUSSED<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You would get support as Secretary, from the Chair and\/or other members of the University, in writing\/maintaining communications and sharing our story and what&#8217;s happening with\u00a0the University community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the first task?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After getting access to the Twitter and Facebook accounts, this person will be working in partnership with the rest of the Committee to develop a communication plan for\u00a0launch of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/lgbtpulse\">new website <\/a>at the end of January 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I put my name forward as Secretary?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Send your\u00a0expressions of interest to <a href=\"mailto:j.e.allen@soton.ac.uk\">James Allen <\/a>by Monday 20<sup>th<\/sup> November. These will be collated and if there\u2019s more than one, then a network vote will take place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What other roles need to be filled?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember we\u2019re still accepting expressions of interest for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/generic.wordpress.soton.ac.uk\/lgbtpulse\/2017\/10\/24\/focus-on-eventssocial-committee-rep\/\">Social\/Events rep<\/a>\u00a0(closing date is this Friday!) We will also be looking to fill the Vice-Chair role.
