If it is something related to professional practice I would definitely start with linkedIn, create your profile, include all the relevant information and start following thought leaders in that industry. You can also join some professional groups and in there share info about your book inviting the members to share their thoughts.
Try publishing blog entries in LinkedIn about your book’s content. As in, “If you want to make a great pie you have to choose fresh fruits as discussed in “My Book” ” You will be providing your audience with relevant content and if they want to know more, they have to buy your book.
