OK I think I get it, are you saying the course is fully on-line based with no requirement to attend physical lectures?

you can go to the URL here if you haven’t signed up to FutureLearn. Alternatively if you have an account and are signed up to the course, go to your list of courses and it should take you to the first week of activities. You can start the activities anytime, they went live at 00:01 today.

I think we’ll have have great mix of students on the course, with some people who have an academic background in the area, others with personal experience and possibly some people who’ve been brought up in a land-locked area and who’ve never seen the sea, which should make for some interesting discussions. Week 6, in particular, focuses on environmental concerns and the future of our oceans. I hope you enjoy the course.

I too am looking forward to learning something about our oceans. I’ve no experience, but I’m fascinated by the mysteries of the oceans and concerned about pollution and over fishing; also what the future holds if steps aren’t taken to address the problems.

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, I can’t answer your question as our sign up figures are confidential, but I can confirm that it will definitely meet the criteria for a MOOC as the numbers are MASSIVE!
