I am glad you enjoyed Simon’s lecture at the BSR – there are lots of video contributions from Simon throughout the course. See you next week online.

While serving in a NATO post in Naples I was fortunate in having ample opportunity to study the well-known Roman (or rather “Romanised”) sites in the surrounding area, and further afield. I had a particular interest in the Roman seaside resort of Baia and its underwater remains as well as the sunken site of nearby Portus Julius. Although I visited Rome’s Portus once, my present knowledge is based on a lecture, under the auspices of the British School at Rome, that Professor Keay gave at the British Academy . I am eager to learn more.

I am sure that quite a few of us are now migrating towards this course, to find out what has been happening there, in more detail!
