For “???”, read “Coypu” (Nutria), a south American rodent brought to Italy for fur farming, but which escaped, increased, and now graces the Tiber up and down.

Thanks for the videos, Adam. They were very helpful.
I do agree with you about the beauty of the combination of ancient sites and wildlife – my personal favourites include the lizards running round the ruins of the Roman forum and a praying mantis seen at Hadrian’s villa at Tivoli. Nnot to mention the sleek tortoiseshell feral cat staking out the best picnic spot overlooking the Roman forum!)
