I am not aware of such a database. Learning how to interpret these marks is currently something that is learned through experience and experiment and I think this is the best way to learn it.

That being said, you could have a look at the wealth of information our colleagues of the Newport Medieval Shipwreck project put online: http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/archives/view/newportship_2013/index.cfm
They have extensive and detailed reports on all aspects of their research, including the interpretation of the wood.

In the end we brought all the boats together and discussed what techniques we used, how we felt about the experience and the boat in which it resulted. After that, we put our boats to the test by launching them into the water! Once in the water, some boats faired better than others…
