Geodise DAML+Oil workshop
Tutorial and exercise feedback

- The first session could have done with examples of how description
login ontologies are used - COHSE, Tambis, Drug Ontology etc
- JR's session on advanced techniques would have been better after
all the Ikea example had been done
- The Ikea example could have been more guided, with more set exercises.
It was too big a jump from the early simple button pressing exercise
to this
- The words and terminology used are confusing, especially for people
from other areas of Knowledge Engineering. Is a glossary needed?
- The early presentations went over some people's heads.
It would be better to have some examples, and the button pressing exercise first
- IH's presentation needs shortening
- Some of the Ikea example is too abstract for this level of learning
(for example, modelling colour and style).
Perhaps a pizza ontology would be a better example?
- The large example ontology should have set tasks and exercises
for people to try
- We could have a ready made application for people to
use their ontologies in (Perhaps a pizza ordering application? Building
this could be a student project)
