Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals
When an electric field is applied to the liquid crystal, the molecules line up and the appearance of the liquid crystal changes from opaque to clear (below left)
We have modelled this effect by solving the non-linear equations which govern the behaviour of the molecules. Our results show the decreased scattering at higher fields
