Abstract

A estimation of road noise is a challenging issue in vehicle NVH due to extremely complicated transfer paths of road noise as well as the difficulty in an experimental identification of input force from tire-road interaction. In this paper, identification of input force performed by matrix inversion method of frequency response function of tire. To estimated road noise, calculated input force and measured vehicle transfer function are multiplied and inversed. To analyze factor of tire character in road noise, modal test performed at the same boundary condition that driving condition By comparison estimated road noise with measured road noise, we can define contribution of input force from tire-road interaction and character of tire. Finally, to above process just measurement of tire character can be applied to non-driving road noise estimation system in field
