We formalize this problem as an optimiza- tion programming problem. Taking the co-author network as a case study, we define three objective functions and pro- pose two methods to combine these objective functions. A genetic algorithm based method is further presented to solve this problem. Experimental results show that the proposed solution can effectively find the staring people from social networks. 2009-04 Conference or Workshop Item PeerReviewed application/pdf http://www2009.eprints.org/190/1/p1219.pdf Chen, Dewei <http://www2009.eprints.org/view/author/Chen=3ADewei=3A=3A.html> and Tang, Jie <http://www2009.eprints.org/view/author/Tang=3AJie=3A=3A.html> and Li, Juanzi <http://www2009.eprints.org/view/author/Li=3AJuanzi=3A=3A.html> and Zhou, Lizhu <http://www2009.eprints.org/view/author/Zhou=3ALizhu=3A=3A.html> (2009) Discovering the Staring People From Social Networks.
