Categorisation and Prototypes

Could you please tell me what is the purpose for prototypes? What is
the difference between it and catergorisation? Which one is better
when explaining "how our minds work"? Have they got any thing to deal
with Neural Net? In the lecture, you used the example for
distingushing " mammal", could you use it again for explaining the
terms "necessary" and "sufficient"?
