Do you find this useful? I'm inclined to make this the last issue, through lack of contributions.

Today's Seminar

The DSSE talk on Monday the 27th Feb. at 13:00 will be in Zepler ES3: by Rachel Harrison.

Metrics for OO Systems

Abstract

A wide range of possible metrics have been proposed for object-oriented systems, but little work has been done to investigate their validity or application. This talk appraises a subset of the possible metrics in the hope of finding a minimal but consistent and complete set which can be used in further research into product metrics for object-oriented design.

NOTE: Please note the change of venue

Trip report - Hugh Glaser

Went to Kent on Monday to visit and give a seminar on Distributed Prograph.

The journey there was even worse than getting to Paris, but I won't go into it.

So there wasn't much time to talk before the late afternoon seminar, which was received quite well. Ate with David Turner afterwards, and managed to talk about good old fashioned functional programming. Miranda 2 won't be around for a while, as David has had some worries about some aspects of it, and has decided to shelve it for a while so that it can shake down in his brain a bit.

Andy King sends his regards.

Copy deadline: 5pm Friday for Monday's newsletter, but send the articles any time.
