For UK and EU students entering ECS in 2022 we are offering the following scholarships.
Please note, only one scholarship will be awarded to each successful candidate. Candidates may apply for both scholarships but will be awarded the single most valuable scholarship for which they were successful.
EU students beginning their course in September 2021 will be offered a European Union Scholarship which comprises a £5,000 fee reduction. These scholarships will be automatically awarded if students meet our eligibility criteria. Find out more.
As an international (non-EU) student, you may be eligible for funding from the University, our partners, or organisations within your home country.
In addition to the funding provided by ECS and the University, our students also have the opportunity to be sponsored by companies during their degree programmes.
ECS has a strong relationship with leading employers, providing its own ECS Careers Hub to inform students of summer placement and graduate opportunities, as well as holding its own annual Careers Fair exclusively for our students. This is attended by high-tech, blue chip, and international companies, keen to employ our students for the knowledge and skills they have developed during their courses.
Southampton is a member of the UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF). UKESF offers scholarships to ECS students in any year (except the final year) of a BEng or MEng degree that contains a substantial amount of electronics content. The University of Southampton has seen great success with this scholarship and has been awarded more UKESF scholarships than any other university since the scheme began.

The IET's Diamond Jubilee Scholarship scheme awards a range of scholarships of at least £1,000 per year, for up to three years to students about to commence an IET accredited degree programme in the UK. These include* the following ECS BSc/BEng and MEng courses:

Students studying Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or Electrical & Electronic Engineering are eligible for scholarship funding from the UK Power Academy. This provides:
Students studying Electronic Engineering are eligible to apply for bursary funding from The Sonardyne Foundation. Successful applicants will receive grants from the Sonardyne Foundation towards the cost of their tuition fees, plus vacation placements.
Student on Computer Science (BEng/MEng), Computer Science with Image and Multimedia Systems (MEng), and Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BEng/MEng) programmes are eligible to apply for a Royal Television Society Technology Bursary. Visit the Royal Television Society for details.
The University continues to offer a generous package of direct student support, with a wider choice of support options available to students.
You will be able to choose between a bursary, partial fee waiver or a combination of both. This choice will be available in each year of study for which you are eligible for support.

Access to Southampton is the University’s widening participation scheme. The programme includes a residential summer school, potential eligibility for an alternative admissions offer, as well as support with the transition to University and a bursary.
