Masters of Science graduates

MSc graduates from India, Cyprus, Mexico, Greece and the UK share their experiences as an Electronics and Computer Science student at the University of Southampton

Taught courses

All our taught degrees are one year Master of Science (MSc) programmes. They consist of two semesters of taught modules followed by an individual research project during the summer. The taught modules in the first semester are usually compulsory for the particular MSc stream, while the second semester allows you to select a wide range of optional modules across the spectrum. During the summer project you will work under the supervision of  an academic member of staff towards your dissertation.

World-class facilities

We are proud of our unrivalled ECS facilities with state-of-the-art, industry-standard equipment housed in superb laboratories. The Mountbatten Building is one of Europe’s leading multidisciplinary state-of-the-art cleanroom complexes, providing flexible research space for nanotechnology and photonics. The building provides a research base for the ECS Nano research group, and the Southampton Nanofabrication Centre.  The Tony Davies HV Laboratory is an active centre for research into dielectric materials and insulation systems, as well as high voltage and related phenomena. We do also have ECS Computing Laboratories with permanent help desk support and even computing facilities specifically reserved for MSc students
