The Internet of Things (IoT) is a term given to the concept of “smart internet connected devices. This project aims to use cutting edge technology to study the environment and in particular to deploy a pilot system on the Cairngorm plateau for observing hydrological, peatland and frozen ground processes.

By using the Internet Protocols throughout the sensor network we will be able to investigate the benefits in terms of human interfaces, management and robustness.

This project is funded by the NERC Technology Proof of Concept programme.
