The ECS Aerospace Electronic Engineering degree can be studied at both 3 year bachelors and 4 year undergraduate masters levels. Both are available with a Foundation Year.

Modern aerospace systems are set to rely even more heavily on electronic systems in the future, as autonomous unmanned flying vehicles, the development of electric aircraft, and the increased use of GPS to enhance flight efficiency and safety, increase society’s dependence on electronics.

Students will be taught by our team of experts who have experience of working on projects for NASA and ESA, as well as teaching industry staff on Space Systems Engineering.

Aerospace electronics design

Aerospace Electronics Design

Second-year students work to design, build and test an autonomous or remote-controlled drone, capable of completing manoeuvrability or tracking tasks. This challenging exercise develops skills in design, project management, teamwork and communication.

Space Systems Engineering

This third-year module looks at key subsystems of a spacecraft and considers how they interface. Topics include the space environment and its effect on craft design, orbit dynamics, mission analysis, power systems, thermal control and data handling.
