Abstract
This report consists of a mapping survey of ab initio degree provision in England and Scotland.

This report consists of a mapping survey of ab initio degree provision in England and Scotland. It includes coverage of the range of languages on offer at beginners’ level and the entry requirements. This is then followed by a detailed case study of provision in Italian Studies at one institution. It was funded by the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies.
