Using facebook for (language) teaching

The workshop will feature discussion of the issues around the use of Facebook/social networking sites in the classroom. There will be a practical activity which will give attendees the chance to make use of Facebook, Blackboard, Word, and Windows Movie Maker video editing software, to create language learning activities enabling cultural immersion in the target language. No previous experience of Facebook or Windows Movie Maker is necessary in order to attend this session.
This workshop is for:
- Language teachers
- Learning technologists working in the field of languages
The main outcomes of the workshop are:
- ability to set up and use a Facebook account
- an understanding of how a social networking tool can be used for language teaching
- skills (technological and pedagogic) for developing on learning activities using a range of software
Fees
- There is a charge of £95 to attend this event.
