Islamic Studies Network activity 2010-11
News summary
During the academic year 2010-11 the Islamic Studies Network will be sponsoring a variety of activities for those involved in teaching Islamic Studies in UK higher education. These include regional workshops, a call for project funding, and a publication for network members.
The first regional workshop will be held in Edinburgh on 22 October 2010. Further workshops will be held in Oxford on 10 December, in Lampeter on 9 March 2011, and in Leeds in May. A residential workshop for PhD students will be held in February 2011.
The Islamic Studies Network is also inviting applications for small project funding, closing date 29 October 2010.
The first issue of the network's magazine, Perspectives: teaching Islamic Studies in higher education, will be posted to members of the mailing list at the beginning of November. Please email islamicstudies@heacademy.ac.uk if you would like to receive a copy of the magazine.
