Introducing Babel:

Free Sample Issue Out Now!

Babel is a new quarterly print magazine, covering a wide range of topics in linguistics. It brings together cutting-edge research in language studies, presented in a fun and digestible form. With Prof. David Crystal as Linguistic Consultant, and a spirited team of global language academics behind it, Babel promises to broaden your linguistic horizons.

Visit the Babel website to download a PDF of the free sample issue, or contact us to receive your free copy in the post.

Regular features in Babel include articles on new research (such as politeness in Chinese), biographies of leaders in the field (such as H. Paul Grice), reviews of general interest language books, as well as language games and quizzes.

Subscription for 2013 is also available through the Babel website and includes four glossy copies of Babel magazines per year, delivered to your door. The first full issue is due for publication in February 2013 and will be 48 pages of language-lovers' lore!

We are sure that academics, students, language professionals and laypeople alike will find Babel a great resource to engage with, be inspired by, and keep up to date with contemporary research in linguistics.
