Recent work utilising the connection between cluster algebras and tropical geometry has revealed a great deal about the analytic structure of scattering amplitudes. In this talk I will discuss how this connection has allowed us to deal with two issues with n>7 point amplitudes in SYM: a finite list of possible singularities and algebraic singularities.
