Title:
Event Reconstruction in the TITUS Intermediate Detector for Hyper-Kamiokande
Abstract:

The Tokai Intermediate Tank for Unoscillated Spectrum (TITUS) detector is a proposed addition to the Hyper-Kamiokande (Hyper-K) neutrino oscillation. The design consists of a 2 kton Gadolinium-doped water Cherenkov tank, located approximately 2 km from the J-PARC neutrino beam, partially covered by a magnetised muon range detector. The primary goal of TITUS is to measure the neutrino spectrum at the near detector with a very high precision, thus improving the Hyper-K CP violation sensitivity. Presented in this talk are the new simulation and reconstruction tools that have been developed to provide fast, flexible and comprehensive event reconstruction for both Cherenkov particles and neutron capture signals, for use in optimising the design of TITUS to maximise the potential for CP violation searches.
