The analytic properties of amplitudes have been studied for decades. In recent years the poles and discontinuities of amplitudes in N=4 super Yang-Mills have been shown to be elements of cluster algebras, a relatively new mathematical object. In this talk I will explain our cluster adjacency conjecture and how the poles of amplitudes appear in these cluster algebras dictates how they appear in amplitudes. Slides can be found here.
