As a Physics and Astronomy student you’ll have access to incredible facilities.

You'll benefit from the world-class research facilities, educational resources and amenities which make Southampton one of the best learning environments in the UK.

The Physics and Astronomy undergraduate teaching laboratories were refreshed in autumn 2019 to include new 75" screens for more interactive teaching, latest-generation oscilloscopes, improved Wi-Fi and new, more comfortable laboratory setting.

Facilities include:

• an observatory on the rooftop of the building, equipped with two high-quality telescopes
• a specialist photonics laboratory with research-grade laser equipment
• a £120m Cleanroom Complex which is home to exceptional photonics and nanoelectronics facilities
• a dedicated physics library for independent study
