We need some light relief after the Cuban missile crisis so this could be a song about how Castro-enteritis is the pain you get when you don’t get your way or have to back down, or swallow an insult or slight. This is particularly relevant after the Cuban missile crisis (previous scene) where Fidel has to realise that Cuba has just been used as a pawn in the Cold war. In the end Fidel had no say in the agreement made between the US and the Soviet Union and felt very helpless – a difficult feeling for a leader who is used to being in control.
