The Digital Marketing MOOC: two weeks to go…
Our Digital Marketing MOOC produced in partnership with FutureLearn is running for the second time from 19th October. The course runs for 3 weeks and is totally free to anyone with an internet connection. You can sign up for the course here.
This year we are delighted to be part of the BBC’s “Make it Digital” campaign. This initiative brings together 8 free digital creativity courses, aimed at exploring such topics as coding, creative programming, marketing, animation and film.
We are delighted to report that #fldigital #MOOC from @unisouthampton is now part of #makeitdigital :-) https://t.co/iIIN4pJGdH

Participating in a ‘massive open online course’ with thousands of learners from all over the world may seem rather daunting at first. But it’s just an opportunity to learn in a different way. Interacting with others, sharing experiences and building networks is the most important way to learn on (and beyond) the course.
The course is based on our experience of bringing together the latest practical research in this area by university staff, students and their business collaborators. We will share our stories about the latest issues which impact on us all as consumers or marketers, and we encourage you to share your own stories – using the tools of digital marketing to do so.
Students taking some of the University’s face to face modules will be participating in the MOOC alongside their fellow learners. And we have a team of keen Facilitators – Student Digital Champions from our Web Science and Digital Marketing Programmes helping out with troubleshooting, monitoring of discussions and general dispensing of enthusiasm!
Amanda Herron, one of our new DigiChamps, said: “I’m hoping the MOOC will show how easily accessible and valuable open courseware can be to students and lifelong learners everywhere“.
