Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

In order to submit your abstract you will first need to register yourself as a user on the Open Conference Systems (OCP). 

Please click on the 'Account" or "Create and Account" link found on the top of the web page. A new window will open up and follow the instructions to register to use the system. You will then be given the option to select the category into which you want to submit your abstract. Please select your preferred option. If the deadline for any of the categories has passed they will no longer be available. You will be asked to insert your abstract details and upload your abstract, please note this should be a Word document. You should then receive an automated email within 24 hours of submitting your abstract. If you do not receive this email, please contact person via the email link on this page.

The abstract should a Word document no longer than one A4 page in portrait layout containing: title, co-authors and affiliations following the format detailed in the abstract template which is available to download from this page (the name of the presenting author should be marked with an asterisk (*)

Main body of text to be left aligned

Single spacing throughout

Text should be in Arial, font size 11pt

References, with consecutive numbers in square brackets in the text, should be listed at the end of the text using standard Chemical Abstracts Source Service Index terminology followed by YEAR, VOLUME, and PAGE

The use of figures, graphs and schemes is recommended where this aids the understanding of the text. Please note that abstracts will be printed in black and white, so images / figures should be selected carefully.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Title: Times New Roman or Arial, bold, font size 11

    Authors’ names: Times New Roman or Arial, regular, Not Bold, font size 11 given in the following format: [firstname] [initials] [surname]. Multiple author names should be separated by commas, except for the last one, which should be separated by “and”. The person who is presenting the work at the congress should have an asterisk (*) after their surname, before any commas. For example:

    Frank D. Smith*, Simon A. Davies, Martha C. Avila and Susan B. Bold

    Abstract: Only one A4 size paper, single space throughout, all text should be in the Times New Roman or Arial font, size 11 and justified.

    Margins: top and bottom: 2.54 cm; left and right 3.17 cm

    Please insert graphics into the main body of the text. (The use of figures, graphs and schemes is recommended where this aids the understanding of the text).

    References, denoted by consecutive number in square brackets in the text, should be listed at the end of the text as follows: Author(s), following the same format as above, title of the paper, Journal (full name in italics), YEAR, VOLUME, and PAGES.

    All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  2. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Conference.

  3. All the authors have read and agreed to the abstract content.

a) Authors retain copyright over their work, while allowing the conference to place this unpublished work under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to freely access, use, and share the work, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and its initial presentation at this conference.
b) Authors are able to waive the terms of the CC license and enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution and subsequent publication of this work (e.g., publish a revised version in a journal, post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial presentation at this conference.
c) In addition, authors are encouraged to post and share their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) at any point before and after the conference.
