ORBS Principles
Our aim is to protect progress through process
ORBS employs a Hegelian philosophy where the proven hypothesis of one experiment helps to build a greater understanding of the complexity of our biological world through constructing a foundation for the next round of experimentation and study.
To achieve this there is a feedback loop where the results of a proven hypothesis are directed toward the next round of research and audit. The users require the processes to be reasonably logical, employing the same overall format and logic during each step. The principles that ORBS adheres to are that;
-
ORBS provides secure integrated development environment for research and audit
-
The steps are sequential and a single thread can be followed by each researcher to find their way through the various steps
-
This allows researchers to retrace these steps at any time.
-
Each step of the workflow for clinical research starts with a purpose which outlines the reason for the step
-
There is a Common User Interface (UI) for each step of the process
-
Common Components are used, where possible for the researchers
-
There is a clearly mapped series of steps creating the processes
Each step has the following directories, and hence components associated with it. The diagram can be opened in a separate window for printing. It may be necessary to rescale before printing. |
