The
material from the last Gaussian Process winter school organised by Prof. Neil
Lawrence, which was attended by two Southampton PhD students Sheffield
in January, is of high interested for people working, or starting to work, on
applied machine learning and statistical data modelling. In general, the school
provided good tutorials on standard GPs and kernel design, and also lectures on non-conventional Gaussian process models, like GP
classifiers, sparse GPs, multi-output GP and latent force GP models for motion tracking, along with several practical sessions using
the GPy python framework. This school will probably be running again in Sheffield in
September 2014.
