Globalising the university at 'home:’ implications and recommendations for the curriculum, staff and students, Kate Borthwick, LLAS
On the 5th march, 2014, LLAS and the University of Southampton was host to an HEA-sponsored seminar on the theme of internationalisation: Globalising the university ‘at home:’ implications and recommendations for the curriculum, staff and students. This seminar critiqued the notion of the ‘international university’ and explored the implications of an increasingly international HE experience through a mix of presentation, discussion and interactive sessions. The day was attended by delegates from all over the UK and it generated lots of discussion and acknowledgement that there is much to be done in what is a complex, multi-faceted and ever-changing area. More about the HEA seminar can be found at: www.heacademy.ac.uk/events/detail/2014/Seminars/Themes/GEN874_Southampton
