The winner

The winner of the Subject Centre's undergraduate student award competition 2010 is Daniel Finch-Race, a 3rd year Modern European Languages student at the University of Edinburgh. Daniel wrote a promotional article aimed at encouraging school pupils to study languages, linguistics or area studies at university. Read Daniel's winning essay: "One very big adventure".

This annual competition is run by The Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies (LLAS) and in addition to the prize money winners have their essay/recording published on the Subject Centre website, and are invited to attend the HE Academy Conference.  Runners-up also receive a prize and have their entries published on our website. Details of the 2011 competition will be announced later this year.
