Genius innovation related to energy poverty: using plastic bottles instead of lightbulbs in developing countries to get light during the day in buildings with no windows (which are very common, it seems). 
What I found particularly interesting:
– in terms of carbon emissions: “Moser lamps emit no CO2″ while “A 50 Watt light bulb running for 14 hours a day for a year has a carbon footprint of nearly 200kg CO2;”
– in terms of self-perception and being green: “Some people said they felt poorer after installing a bottle light, says Change founder Sajid Iqbal. The group counters this by stressing that each one helps tackle climate change.”
– the idea is spreading virally across the world without being a commercial product
