27 September 2014 @ 10.00 – 16.00, Imperial College London, Silwood Park Campus,
Buckhurst Road, Ascot , SL5 7PY
This event will bring together the local community around Silwood Park, including school children and families, local entrepreneurs and naturalists, for a fun family day out packed with activities. Visitors will learn about how they can play their part locally and globally in monitoring biodiversity, through engagement with local wildlife trusts, international NGOs and research organisations.
Exhibiting at our event is free of charge, but space and facilities are limited. If you would like to join us, please contact Victoria Ireton (v.ireton@imperial.ac.uk), including a brief description of your planned contribution to the day, including the message you would like to put across, any facilities you would require, and how your work relates to GCEE themes as displayed on our website.
Please respond by 11 July 2014. We will contact you as soon as possible thereafter to confirm whether we are able to accommodate you and discuss your requirements. Preference will be given to groups who have existing links to the GCEE initiative, or who have ideas as to how to form such links in the future.
Lloyd’s 2014 Science of Risk Prize
Lloyd’s 2014 Science of Risk Prize awards cash prizes to academics for recently published research relevant to the insurance industry. We are asking researchers to submit recently published peer reviewed research papers illustrating their expertise in risk based subjects of interest to insurers and reinsurers. This year’s theme is the natural world with two categories: Climate Change and Natural Hazard.
We are offering prizes of £5,000 for the best research paper in each category and £1,000 for the runners-up. The prize and a certificate will be awarded at a conference in Lloyd’s Old Library followed by a dinner in the Adam Room, attended by leading academics and business experts.
The closing date for entries is 26 September 2014
