The goal of the CombeChem project is to develop an e-Science test-bed that integrates existing structure and property data sources, and augments them within a grid-based information and knowledge environment. The project aims to support collaborative research by enabling researchers and reviewers to access original and analysed data, and collaborate around the creation of research outputs, stored publications, plus add content, annotations and notes. The ARCHER aims to facilitate the adoption of 'proof-of-concept' tools developed under the DART project and assist researchers to collect and store data, share it securely with collaborators, plus access many of the DART developed tools, such as annotations, electronic publication, replication and backup, communication tools, search tools, etc.
