> R4L Final Report (Dec 2007)

The Final Report for the Repository for the Laboratory (R4L) Project has been handed over to JISC.

> R4L article in D-Lib Magazine(March 2007)

An article by Dr Simon Coles featuring the Repository for the Laboratory (R4L) Project has been published in the March/April 2007 issue of D-Lib Magazine (Volume 13 Number 3/4).

> New R4L repository architecture design implemented (Feb 2007)

The R4L main repository has been fully redesigned and the new version can be previewed here. The new repository has an improved metadata structure and also benefits from the incorporation of the experiment workflow into the R4L ingest. R4L new look has also been populated with more data than the previous version.

> R4L in a RIN report (5th Feb 2007)

The R4L project has been mentioned in a report by the Research Information Network on the policies of research funding bodies.

> R4L to conduct a SPECTRa survey (Feb 2007)

R4L has agreed to conduct a survey on the Use of Computers and the Internet in Chemistry Research in the School of Chemistry at the University of Southampton.(February. 2007). The survey is initiated by the JISC-funded SPECTRa project, and the results will be beneficial to the R4L project which aims to support (Chemistry) laboratory research through the use of digital repositories. The questionnaire of the survey is available online for download.

> R4L/EBank/SPECTRa joint eResearch Workshop (Oct 2006)

The Workshop entitled "Digital Repositories Supporting e-Research: Exploring the eCrystals Federation Model" was a joint consultation between the three JISC-funded projects R4L, EBank and SPECTRa. It was held in London on the 20th October 2006. The poster presented by the R4L team and the official report of the workshop are available in the Papers and Presentations section of this web site.

> R4L Probity Service up and running (Sept 2006)

The service allows researchers to register their results and findings, and can guarantee the priority and provenance of data through an efficient cross-registration mechanism using different Web Services and a number of distributed probity registries. > Peter Murray-Rust' blog: "A Scientist and the Web" (Sept 2006)

Dr Peter Murray-Rust from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge has started a new blog called "A Scientist and the Web" at the Unilever Cambridge Centre for Molecular Informatics.

> Redesigned R4L Jet Repository deployed (June 2006)

A redesigned version of the R4L Jet repository has been deployed at the same address Jet.ecs.soton.ac.uk.

> Prototype Jet repository deployed (sept 2005)

The first prototype of the R4L digital repository called Jet has gone live at the url Jet.ecs.soton.ac.uk.

> R4L Web Site Launch (19th May 2005)

The Web Site of the R4L project has gone live.
