Tips and FAQ

For those of you who can't use the current release of the tool we can offer validation on a sample of each of your questions to steer you in the right direction before we can distribute a working version of the tool.

If you use or can upgrade to Office XP and have got the validation tool working please ignore this message.

If each of you send cjh2@ecs.soton.ac.uk three questions i.e. one of each type of question with equations, graphics, and symbols in, I can then validate these for you and give feedback on whether or not they validated and any suggestions for further questions.

Question Validation

23/07/2002
We have received sample questions from the Math's for Engineers group. There are a number of points that have been raised by these questions that need to be noted.

  1. Please include meta data for your questions;
  2. Questions can only be validated if they conform to the naming standard;
  3. Try not to write identifiers with capitals, this causes the validator to crash;
  4. The _qa and _ma parts of the questions only need to be in the names of the questions not the identifiers.
