About the ConferenceOpen Repositories 2007, the Second International Conference on Open Repositories, provides a significant opportunity to anyone involved in the design, development, deployment, or management of open repository software. The conference will allow attendees to keep abreast of the rapidly changing repository landscape, share experiences, exchange ideas, and plan for the future. Under the theme of Practice and Innovation, Open Repositories 2008 addresses the issues facing all the stakeholders in repository activity: digital library researchers, repository platform developers, institutional repository managers and instituional research managers. The conference continues the very successful format of general conference plenary sessions that cover cross-cutting and overarching issues followed by concurrent Open User Group meetings for DSpace, Fedora, and EPrints. As well as technical and research sessions, meetings of the UK Council of Research Repository Managers and the EurOpenScholar group of European Universities Senior Managers will address the management aspects of repository deployment. The general conference program will feature two keynote talks, as well as six plenary sessions for papers and panels that address interoperability across open repositories. OR08 is hosted by the University of Southampton. The conference will take place March 31st-April 4th 2008 in Southampton, UK.
