NewsKai Rannenberg confirmed as SpeakerProf Dr Kai Rannenberg (www.m-chair.net) holds the T-Mobile Chair for Mobile Business and Multilateral Security at Goethe University Frankfurt since September 2002. Before he was with the System Security Group at Microsoft Research Cambridge, UK focussing on "Personal Security Devices and Privacy Technologies", e.g. within the CamWebSIM project. Jacques Bus confirmed as SpeakerJacques Bus, born in the Netherlands in 1947, studied Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam and obtained his PhD with a thesis in Numerical Mathematics. He worked as a researcher at CWI (Amsterdam) for 15 years. In 1988 he joined the European Commission services in the Unit for Computer Integrated Manufacturing in the Esprit programme. Since then he has been responsible for programme wide operational and organisational affairs in the Esprit and IST programme and for Informatics support in DG Information Society. From June 2000 till March 2004 he was Head of the Unit Software Technologies and Distributed Systems in the IST programme, which included the coordination of activities on Open Source Software within the IST programme. Since early 2003 he has been active in the preparation of a European Security Research Programme addressing development of multidisciplinary, integrated solutions for the security of citizens. From March 2004 he has taken responsibilities for the unit ICT for Trust and Security in the IST Programme, which includes Research and technology Development for Network and Information System Security, Trustworthy Computing and DRM, Biometrics, Identity management and Critical Information Infrastructure Protection. Noshir Contractor confirmed as SpeakerNoshir Contractor is the Jane S. & William J. White Professor of Behavioral Sciences in the School of Engineering, School of Communication and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, USA. He is the Director of the Science of Networks in Communities (SONIC) Research Group at Northwestern University. Joseph Sifakis to speak at the WWW ForumJoseph Sifakis is recognized for his pioneering work on both theoretical and practical aspects of Concurrent Systems Specification and Verification. He contributed to emergence of the area of model-checking, currently the most widely-used method for the verification of industrial applications. His current research activities include component-based design, modeling, and analysis of real-time systems with focus on correct-by-construction techniques. Joseph Sifakis has broad experience with industry, notably though joint projects with partners such as Astrium, the European Space Agency, France Telecom, ST Microelectronics and he has also been active for many years in consulting. Joseph Sifakis has received with Ed Clarke and Allen Emerson for their contribution to Model Checking, the Turing Award for 2007. He is also the recipient of the CNRS Silver Medal in 2001. Tim Berners-Lee to speak at the WWW ForumProfessor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, director of the W3C and director of WSRI, will be speaking at WebSci09 Tim Berners-Lee is the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium, the 3COM Founders Professor of Engineering in the School of Engineering, with a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science MIT's CSAIL where he leads the Decentralized Information Group (DIG), and Professor of Computer Science at Southampton ECS. |
